The word "Gemini" is a name of Greek Origin. It means twin, and is generally a name for girls. In this sense, it's given to a child who is either a twin or who was born under this star sign.

What does Gemini mean?
  • Gemini is a constellation of stars found in the Northern Hemisphere.
  • It is the constellation of stars that contains the twin stars Castor and Pollux.
  • The word Gemini can either refer to a star sign or to a person who has the honour of being born under this star sign.
  • The sign is believed to give a person a kind of dynamic, twin personality.
  • In astrology, Geminis are born between May 22nd and June 21st.
  • They are supposed to be adaptable, versatile, chatty and witty.
  • They are also nervous, tense, cunning and - at times - superficial.

The constellation Gemini is the third in the zodiac, and is supposed to be symbolic of the twin brothers Castor and Pollux, (according to Greek mythology). They were the sons of the Greek God Zeus and Leda, and were supposed to be a pair of goats.

It means that you have two sides to you, a good side and a bad side. It may also mean that you have a person out there (a twin) who you are completely compatible with. This could be someone such as a best friend or cousin. Someone you are very close with. Being a Gemini is a true gift.

Gemini means twins in Latin. The twins or Dioskouroi in Greek mythology were Kastor and Polydeuces.

Their counterparts in Roman mythology were Castor and Pollux. They were the twin children of Leda and the siblings of Clytemnestra and the famous Helen of Troy. They were reputed to be accomplished sportsmen. While Castor was an expert horseman, Pollux was a skilled boxer.

Castor is worshipped much more than his brother - so much so that the pair is even occasionally referred to as Castores.

There is also a constellation of stars named after these Roman twins. In it, the stars named Castor and Pollux shine the brightest. In the animation cartoon series "Thundarr the Barbarian", Gemini was a two-headed sorcerer and villain.

Gemini is also an astrological sign applied to people born between the twenty first of May and the twentieth of June.

There is also a rollercoaster in the amusement park in Cedar Point called Gemini.

Project Gemini is the second American manned space flight program.

The Gemini Awards are an awards ceremony in Canada.

Gemini was also a film in the Indian language of Tamil starring Kiran and Vikram Rathod.
