The term 'Responsibility Assumption' describes a doctrine in which every individual is responsible for all the events and circumstances that appear in his life. In this theory, it is believed that the mental contribution plays a larger role in the existence of the circumstances and usually the contribution is larger than what is normally believed.

The relationship that Dale Carnegie had with this phenomenon is quite important and he is believed to be the person who thought of the idea at first, though he was not among those who elaborated the idea but just gave an indication about the phenomenon in his work.

Other than 'Responsibility Assumption', there are some other ideas also that are being propagated by Dale Carnegie and one of the prime ideas among them include the changing of the reaction of a person by changing your own behaviour.
