Through Moses, God sends down ten plagues on the Egyptians, the last of them being the death of the firstborn. Pharoah finally releases the Hebrews, then changes his mind and chases them. The Hebrews, through God, pass through the Red Sea on dry ground (God parted the sea so there was land for them to cross on), then when the Egyptians chasing them tried to cross, the seas came back and drowned the Egyptians.
