It better not, as this is all that majority of people have left to believe in, to go living for and hopes of a better time ahead

Not a chance. It fills a need for many people. They tried to suppress religion in the USSR but when Communism collapsed those people whose religion had been forced underground were suddenly free to re-emerge, and they did.

Karl Marx showed a great deal of compassion when he wrote, "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless
world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people."

Very appropriate! I don't think we get Calvin and Hobbes in Oz but I remember seeing a strip before when somebody posted a link ... possibly yourself. That one was right on topic. :)

And, like you, I tried using HTML tags and came up short. Now I just blunder along. :(

Sorry, Nov, I didn't see all those earlier comments. The software hides them. What I REMEMBER reading, years ago, is that he said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses; it is the laudanum of the poor." But when I looked it up a couple of years ago I came up with this particular variation.

It's probably just an alternative translation from the German, as you suggested.

Yes, "False Religion" will end. Why? Because the earth must be rid of God-dishonoring false religion. The political elements of this world will take care of this. (Revelation 17:15-18) God will put his one thought in their heart to do so. This is why it is urgent to heeded God’s appeal respecting false religion: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)

No. We need a religion. We should know what to do to make God happy! People love Jesus and he loves us too !! I think people are getting less religious but there are still people that are religious.
