I have recently been interested in the Bible and stuff. What is God's job in the Bible and in life as opposed to religion?

God's job in the Bible is to demand things to happen. He does what men want him to do: He's the authority. When the writers of the Bible wrote those stories, they wanted a way to justify their going to war. They would use god as the reason for it.

He is also supposed to be the force, like in any other religious text, that claims what he says is the truth. He claims that he is the one and only true god, just as many other religions do.

God was the original multi-tasker.

-- He was an engineer. He built the whole kit and caboodle.
-- He was a genetecist. He bred the various species from nothing.
-- He was an author. He wrote the Bible. (Unfortunately he was no editor, which is why it's such a mess.)
-- He was an entertainer. He performed illusions for the masses.
-- He was a caterer. He fed the multitude with loaves and fishes.
-- He was an escaped convict. He faked his own death and escaped after the crucifixion.
-- He was a confidence trickster. Religion is the world's longest-running, most successful, tax free Ponzi Scheme. Ante-up now, collect your rewards after you die.
