If it was 100% fact that you have a soul, would you sell it?

According to the bible. We are souls. We don't have them, and souls die,

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7. A soul is a living person (we don't have souls, we are souls)

The soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:20. "Every living soul died in the sea." Revelation 16:3. -Souls die (we are souls, we die eventually)

when you die. You return to the dust of the earth Ecclesiastes 12:7

the dead know nothing at all Ecclesiastes 9:5-6&10

Cease to exist until resurrection day  Job 14:12
"All that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth." John 5:28, 29. "David ... Is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day." "For David is not ascended into the heavens." Acts 2:29, 34. "If I wait, the grave is mine house." Job 17:13.

As for the spirit, its nothing more then the breath of life that God gave you. It doesn't live on after you die as most christians believe.

"The body without the spirit is dead." James 2:26. "The spirit of God  is in my nostrils." Job 27:3.  God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7

when you die, God takes his breath of life back.

"and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7.

PS/ nowhere does the bible mention that the "spirit" lives on after death. (as I said, its nothing more then the breath of Life god gave you)

Even if it was possible, I would never sell my soul to anyone. It is part of me, and there is nothing more important than your soul.

This would be quite a tempting offer. Depends on what I would get. Sometimes I feel tired from it all. :) If I have/am a soul, then I must be a very old one.

Nephesh in Hebrew is translated to soul in Septuagint. Nephesh is actually "a living being" and they contain ruah (the spirit of YHWH), which returns to YHWH when one dies. Soul comes from Germanic and Anglo Saxon word Sawol meaning "belonging to or coming from the sea." So I'd have to know exactly what it is and what it means before I can decide what to do with its factual existence.

Is it related to Leviathan? Typhoon? Odin? Wade? Valhalla? Hjadningavig? Folkvangr? Elysium? Titans? Atlantis? The Seagoat? Dagon? Admiralty Law? The Holy See/Sedes Sacrorum? What does it mean?

Metaphorically, of course, people do that every day. Jesus's comment, "What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world yet lose his own soul?" could be translated into modern English as, "What shall it benefit you if you are so unethical that you trample over people and earn the contempt of your peers?"

There are plenty of people who would sell their souls for a profit.

But to do a deal with the Devil and sell my immortal soul? That would  be a very poor deal indeed. Unless, of course my name was Johnny,  l lived in Georgia, and he was offering to exchange it for "a fiddle made of gold".

The tribal people found Christianity quite easy to incorporate into their voodoo as they had simlar symbols and figures, you know when the pope claimed their lands and had them killed and infiltrated by Christianity.

I'm no lover of the Papacy, nor of religion -- whether Christianity or any other -- but II think your view of history may be a tad jaundiced there.

No. Accordingly to the very first book of the Bible, Genesis, we are told that the soul is not something you have, it is something you are. We read of the creation of Adam, the first human being: “The man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7) The Hebrew word used here for soul, ne′phesh, occurs well over 700 times in the Hebrew Scriptures, (known as the Old Testament) never once conveying the idea of a separate, ethereal, spiritual part of man. On the contrary, the soul is tangible, concrete, physical.

No one would buy it.  If you are talking Satan and hell, I am almost assuredly headed there already.  And no I would not sell my soul even knowing I am going to hell.  No one may dictate my life for me.  I will do a fine job messing up all by myself, thank you.  Why then would I not sell my soul for things I want in this life since eternity will be so unpleasant already?  I do not wish to lead others into hell.  If the judges are fair, I am sure hell will be much worse if I am found guilty of causing others pain or helping to make sure they end up in hell too.

Naw, Satan does not want my soul, he already owns it.

The soul is united to the body as primary matter is united to substantial form in Aristotle's explanation of "multiplicity in the order of existence."

Since each of us has one, I don't see that a "spare" soul would have any market value.

If you read "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis, you will see that he poses the concept that Satan and the other demons somehow "feed" on the souls of those who spend eternity with him; so it may be that he would in fact be interested in a "futures" market for souls.

The following quote is what I think best represents an accurate conclusion of exegesis and theology with regard to the biblical statements on the "soul."

"In Sacred Scripture the term "soul" often refers
to human life or the entire human person. But "soul" also refers to
the innermost aspect of man, that which is of greatest value in him, that by
which he is most especially in God's image: "soul" signifies the
spiritual principle in man."
