Why is the value of philosophy is in fact to be sought largely in its very uncertainty?

Philosophy is "the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline."

There are several different "Schools of Thought" in regards to philosophy, and which ever one you are drawn to is usually based on the Environment and the Experiences you had growing up into adulthood. I have been recently reading some of David Hume's ideas . .  Not a bad start, if you need a starting point.
