Exodus 13 has the story of God parting the Red Sea for the Hebrews as they were leaving slavery in Egypt for the Promised Land- Israel. The crossing of the Jordan, which is recorded in Joshua 3, took place as the Hebrews entered into Israel to conquer the city of Jericho under the leadership of Joshua, the book's namesake.
