It's a sphere. In the bible at Isaiah 40:22 it describes God as "as the one who dwells above the circle of the earth."  Confirming that the earth is round.

You really need to get out more.

For all practicality, it is round.  I know there are people who maintain that the earth is flat, and they irritate the crap out of me.  Were I a less peaceful, easy-going sort, I would recommend rounding them allup and pushing them off the edge.
