Actually there are 6 different types of monk in the medieval times
Benedictine monks
Cistercian monks
Carthusian monks
Dominican monks
Franciscan monks
Augustine monks
there are reports of another too known as the Gilbertines but cannot determine weather they where a type of of branch of the Augustine monks
