Born In 700BC Zeus according to Greek methodology was the son of Kronos and Rhea. Kronos was the powerful king of gods. There was a prophecy that Kronos would be overthrown by his own son so whenever they had a child Kronos would swallow it up. He swallowed five of his offsprings but when Zeus was born in 700 BC Rhea hid him under a tree in a basket and instead presented a stone wrapped in a cloth to her husband which he instantly swallowed.
According to various sources Zeus was brought up by the nymph, Adamanthea. In the battle between the the Titans and the Olympians Zeus finally overthrew his father and became the king of gods. Zeus ruled from the Mount Olympus by rewarding good and punishing evil. He is famous for his manipulation humans for his own selfish desires. His weakness include him getting in trouble over his love affairs.He is the father of the famous, Hercules.
