There are two ways of making a pencil bend. First way is to get hold of a pencil and hold the pencil in the middle by your thumb and index finger. Wiggle the pencil up and down and you will see the wooden pencil showing rubber like qualities (bending). Other way of making the pencil bend is to take a three-fourth glass of water filled. Insert a pencil and let it lean on the side of the glass. Keep it near the sunlight and you will see that the pencil has been bent. This happens due to refraction. It is not physically possible to bend a wooden pencil unless it is a rubber pencil.
