If you mean the future of the planet, I'm inclined to be pessimistic. In my own lifetime I've seen so many species lost, so many environmental questions raised, and while it would be within the reach of science to solve most future problems it will never happen while politicians are in the pockets of the mega-rich. Profits will always come before people.

Of course, not all politicians are corrupt. Robert Heinlein once described an honest politician as "one who  stays bought".

What a great question. Many have asked but have not found a satisfying answer. We can find those answers in the bible. The bible tells us that God is incapable of lying. (Titus 1:2). He has given us a hope for the future. John 17:3 tells us: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you the  only true God and the one you sent forth, Jesus Christ".  Revelation 21:4 tells us: "He will wipe out every tear  from there  eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away". I found the website www.jw.org to be very helpful in finding satisfying answers to life's  big questions like why do we grow old and die? Why do we we get sick? Why is there so much suffering? Hope this will be helpful to you

Depends on IF we can get people to understand the importance of leaving a "Good" carbon footprint as opposed to a Bad one.

Understandable, many persons are frightened by what they see taking place on earth—increasing lawlessness, terrorism, pollution of air, land and water, and general unrest among peoples and nations. Although affected by these conditions, I try very hard not to have a gloomy outlook. Because I  know from God’s Word that the present world situation is fulfilling prophecy and deliverance through God’s kingdom by Jesus Christ is ever so near. Therefore, I try my very best to do what Jesus Christ encouraged: “As these things start to occur, stand up straight and lift up your heads, because your deliverance is getting near.” (Luke 21:28)

My view of the future is shaped by God's promises found Rev 21:3,4 :

"With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry not pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
