My kids and my extended family got me through the horrendous times.
That would be my parents and my old dog, Shep. It may have been tough times but they made it good times!

As I was 8, I'd have to say, my grandmother and my sheer will. My dad was around, and saw to it that I had a roof over my head, but I really had no one emotionally, as my grandmother was in a different state and my step-monster sure made day to day life miserable.
