I'm not likely to get drunk .. Not a drinker.  Growing up with alcoholics can really influence your future drinking habits.

Haven't gotten drunk in many many years and I think it was beer ! Rarely ever touch any hard alcohol. Used to just drink beer all the time.

My poison was jagermeister. It would give me energy to dance all night long! LOL!

Interesting question---it occasioned some interesting (in and to me) on my part.

My 35th anniversary is coming up this year.  When I met my wife, she did not drink; I did---for me, typical for the time, my age, and my single lifestyle.

Over the years I have basically stopped drinking, but Mexican food requires either milk or beer, and I am not quite ready to tell the waitress to bring me extra jalapenos and a large glass of milk.

I also enjoy an occasional margarita, but my bottle of Patron is over a year old and more than half full. Same with my bottle of Haig Dimple Pinch.

On the other hand, I do love certain German and French wines and the Hungarian Tokay Azu.  (I took  both beginner and advanced wine tasting when I was in my early 30's.)  While I still occasionally buy the wines that I loved (and still do), my "palate memory" is stuck in the past.

At my age, I'm unlikely to ever get drunk.  While I occasionally do like a beer (both for the taste and the carbonation), if I have more than one, I find I usually need a nap.  And at my age, 'feeling" like I might have drank too much might necessitate a trip to the doctor because of the many other possibilities that might be causing that feeling---so I try to avoid confusing the doctor with alcohol induced delusion.

That took me back a bit. I used to play chess for a Hungarian club and they took me in as a blood brother. Well, a booze brother would be more appropriate. The ceremony required us all drinking lots of Tokay (although they spelt it the Magyar way as Tokaji, so it was probably imported.)

Been there, done that. Unlikely to do it again. One or two quiet drinks are enough these days. Any nice wine will do the trick.
