Knowlede is power because you need knowledge to get or use power. For example, if you suddenly got magic powers, but no knowledge on how to use them, then you would be powerless

There is really nothing like having knowledge and differentiating between knowledge and belief . . . Now having said that, there is no reason to apply religious connotations to this statement . . It literally can be applied to most things in life.
All knowledge is learning
therefore good.
The pursuit of Knowledge is a lifelong activity. I guess you could reach a point of being powerful on account of what you know and hopefully you will be able to use it wisely.
