No it is not bad to be a good person. The Bible Teaches this a Galatians 6:10 "As long as we have time favorable for it, let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those related to us in the faith." In times of crisis or when someone is in need, we do not hesitate to" work what is good" to our neighbors or our Christian brothers.
That depends on the situation. It is good to be a good person only if others are equally kind. You may
help people who are nice and generous towards you, but it is stupid if you help
thankless and rude ones. You will be wasting your energy as well as your time.
