Just as anybody can recite The Lord's Prayer, or conduct any other religious ceremony.
There is no supernatural means to predict the future.
Compile enough data on current and past events, and anybody can predict probable futures. In fact, that's pretty much what some careers do. Actuaries, stock brokers, bookies.
