Where Do People Who Commit Suicide Go?

The reason people commit suicide is because they are already living in hell and can't bear it any longer. I feel pity for all the religious people who convince themselves that a suffering person who feels so bad that they want to kill themselves, should then spend the rest of eternity in hell. Where is your compassion? Do you really believe that your god would be so mean as to punish these people? Is that love? Is that forgiveness? What about people who are murdered? Was that God's will?

People who commit suicide go into a deep peace until they are ready to meet their maker. You DO NOT go to hell. Hell is only preserved for those who are fallen angels. Those who are soulless, not for humans. Repeat: You DO NOT go to Hell!! Although once you die, you will see the mistakes that you made and what your life could have possibly ended up as,  but too little too late. If you are seriously tempting suicide, think about all of your options. Can you change your course of path, can you let something go that is bothering you. Is it absolutely your last chance. And never never do it to hurt someone else, regardless if they have hurt you, just cut them out of your life and build a wall the reaches heaven, and have peace while living.

If you are contemplating suicide and are relying on God's grace to get you to heaven, PLEASE stop for a moment....God's grace never means that we have a free license to sin! Those who willfully sin after knowing God's grace, are in far greater danger than those who know less. Though you may feel that God is far from you right now, He is much nearer than you think. He may even be speaking to you through these words! Please open your ears and hear Him tell you how valuable your life is. You are needed on this earth and the purpose for your life has not yet been fulfilled. God loves you, and so do many people around you! God would not be God if He could not work this situation (no matter how unbearable it may seem) for His glory and for the good in your own life.

There is NO clear answer as to just "What the Hell" happens to suicide, I am NOT sure, myself. I have NO answer. I just know that it SUX. I have read the Bible and NOWHERE do I find what happened to Judas, I don't know where he went or what happens to people. I wish there was NO such thing as Hell

I wish I had an answer too. I guess I'll find out Tuesday or Wednesday night for sure after my girlfriend and son are gone on their trip. I am tired of being depressed, hurting, being sick and not being loved or wanted. I have tried to talk to God but he either dosnt want to talk to me, couldnt care less or dosnt really exist. Not sure which is worse really. I wish I could come back and let you know what I find out but I don't think that will be possible. Lets call it the last time the throw away boy gets thrown away. This time I'll do the throwing away and make it stick. Best of luck to you all and I hope you find your peace and answers on this or the other side.

I know I don't even know you, but you know deep down you still want to stay in life. Please don't do whatever you are going to do to die. Once you are gone you can't come back. I had these thoughts when I was a kid, and now I have an amazing occupation: Helping people with these thoughts: A psychiatrist. I never thought I would get out of those thoughts, but i did, and now I'm glad I didn't try to harm myself. Please don't do this, it will get better.

The truth of the matter is that no one can know the condition of someone's heart except for God, He is the only reader of the heart  But the Bible does tell us the condition of the dead.  No matter how a person may have died their condition at death is the same.  The Bible teaches us that we go to Hades which is the common grave.  The Bible also let's us know that the soul that is sinning dies.  If fact it would just as if we are sleeping.

But people commit suicide for various reason, in fact if you read the side effects of many medicines it warns you that you could have suicidal thoughts.  Never the less we live in world that only accepts ones that they consider to be accepted, which can cause ones to feel rejected and have no hope.  More importantly we live in a society that has lost many morals that have caused many to be treated in a way to where they have lost hope in life.

Please understand that I do not agree or condone ones for taking their own life, but I can see how personal problems and the weight of this world can burden some to the point of them losing faith and not wanting to live anymore.

I do not agree with this part of your answer " The Bible teaches us that we go to Hades which is the common grave. The Bible also let's us know that the soul that is sinning dies. If fact it would just as if we are sleeping."

Nevertheless, no one but God knows the answer to the original question.

But I suggest that one can not accidentally get into Hell---I think you really have to want to go there.

Tom, I agree with you about God being the one who truly knows the fate of ones, but even Jesus referred to one who died as sleeping. The accout of Lazarus in the book of John helps to appreciate this fact. It also helps us to see that there will be a resurrection of those who are in God's memory. But that is the wonderful thing about God, because he reads the heart and understands why we do the things we do and judges us accordingly.

I suspect Jesus said sleeping when referring to Lazarus so as to not freak people out. That also makes His Resurrection less of a shock.

But it seems we are at least on the same side, generally.

No where.

There are different types of suiciders.

1. Who commits out of emotion only

2. Who thought of it, prepared it, ritual it. Understood properly

3. Out of completion, poverty

Different people have different thoughts because of their knowledge and according to their religion. I can tell you according to Islam Religion.

Every one has to die sooner or later but only at the fixed time. Death and Life is from God. You can't choose your life as it is from God. When God created you. He created you for a specific time and gave you the breaths which you would take on this earth. You can't go beyond or short of this. Death is also from Allah and whenever a person choose his death by him/herself. He is committing sin. God is the your creator and He is the owner of your life and death. When you choose the option to take your life, you commit the sin. You have to die at the appointed time but with only God's will. You choose your will and you are going to hell.

Whether we go to hell or not, I think it's not fair how we don't get to choose weather to be born or not, but then God tells us "Obey me or burn in hell" if I wasn't so scared to I'd be dead already. :T Stupid ass life of mine.

Someone very close to me committed suicide and on a personal level, I have been trying to find the "answer" to this question for a long time. What are the Christian beliefs on committing suicide? Where do you go?
Izzy SouthernGirl
I am sorry to say but no matter what religion you are you will go to hell for committing suicide. It is like that for Catholics too. If I ever commited suicide I know for sure my soul would go straight to hell. And I am sorry for your loss.

People who commit suicide don't go anywhere, and neither do people who die naturally, they become corpses.

Lets take an example, there are two ways from your home going to the subway station from your home. You go to the subway station because you want to go your destination which is pre-decided but you choose one way everyday. Similarly in consideration to your question your destination is pre-decided by God but you always have to choose from the two paths you reach there. I strongly believe that people who suicide are to die that day but choosing the wrong path was their wrong deed.

I think they'd be at hell..because all I know is that only God can take our lives..coz He is the one who gave us life to live not to commit suicide..

It depends on whether or don't if they have accepted the Lord as their savior. If they have accepted the Lord as their savior then they will go to heaven but if they haven't then they will go to hell.

You are all, or mostly, wrong. I am about to end my life. It is my choice. I know I have done the BEST I could do, better, if you knew me, than so many others. Yet all my life, as I overcame one unjust obstacle after another one more difficult took its place. I'm tired. And it is all relative. God Bless those who have suffered what seems to be worse. But You would not want my life, and only God can save it. He knows what I need. So if he lets me go, that too must be his Will. Yes, I am in hell.

I want to respond to Use2belegal... I am in the same state right now. I'm trying my best to muster up the courage to cash in my chips as soon as possible. I want to live, but I don't want to keep hurting. I also want to know from God, who are you, what are you, how many are you, where are you... ARE you ? But he/she/they/it won't show me anything I can understand. So I guess that's it... I'll find out when I get there.
