Quaid-e-Azam's first wife was a distant cousin, her name was Emibai Jinnah. His second wife was Ratanbai Petit ("Ruttie") - after the marriage she took the name Maryam Jinnah although she never used it. He had a daughter, Dina Wadia with his second wife.
Born Mahomedali Jinnahbhai on 25th December 1876 but going by the name Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he passed away on 11th September 1948.
Jinnah was a lawyer, politician, and the founder of Pakistan. He is revered in Pakistan as Quaid-i-Azam meaning Great Leader, and Baba-i-Qaum meaning Father of the Nation. His birthday is observed as a national holiday.
In his book 'Jinnah of Pakistan' (1982) Stanley Wolpert states:
"Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three."
