He was originally assigned 10 labors:
  1. Slay the Nemean Lion.
  2. Slay the 9-headed Lernaean Hydra.
  3. Capture the Golden Hind of Artemis.
  4. Capture the Erymanthian Boar.
  5. Clean the Augean stables in a single day.
  6. Slay the Stymphalian Birds.
  7. Capture the Cretan Bull.
  8. Steal the Mares of Diomedes.
  9. Obtain the Girdle of the Amazon
    Queen
    .
  10. Obtain the Cattle of the Monster Geryon.
The Hydra was slain with the help of Iolaus,
his nephew.
The stables were cleaned for pay or were done by the river.
Thus, two more were added:
  1. Steal the Apples of the Hesperides.
  2. Capture and bring back Cerberus.
There were, thus, twelve tasks, or labours, completed by Hercules.

Hello. I've read this book before, and I remembered it was like 12 or 6 or 7. I'm like 83% sure it's 12. Thanks.

He cleaned those stables.
I wonder if I could get him to
clean out my turn-out shed.
Hmmmm....
Probably not.  The Rio Grand doesn't
run very close at all to were I live.
