Mark Twain ? He would do a good job with that if it were true!

While I am greatly disinclined to lend credence to the OT, it says in EX 34:27, "And the Lord said unto Moses, Write thou these words: For after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel."  So one is led to think Moses did it.

I am loath to quote scripture, as I have no wish of being lumped together with those who do nothing else.

I use "Willful" as i deem it to mean, clearly, what it does. You believe what you believe based on Faith, yet you KNOW what is reasonable and correct yet decide to abstain from this. You are Willfully choosing ignorance over reason . . . it is your choice of course. to do so, but do not act surprised when we call you on it.

Use whatever label you want for me . . . it troubles me not.

Error correction:

1) What I think about the existence of God is based on both reason and personal experience.

2) What I "believe" about the NATURE of God is a result of the gift of Faith.

Curiosity question: You mention that I should not be surprised when "we call you on it."---Are you counting yourself twice?

Nahh, Tom, and I know you addressed Dark, but I think he's addressing skeptics in general. I do not mean atheists, I mean skeptics, because you do not have to be an atheist to be a skeptic, as example, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were skeptics, but also a theist.

Here's a quote from an internet reference:  (Some of the atheists on here think they know more about Christianity than us Christians, so I'll let them search for the quote if by some "miracle" they are not familiar with it.)

"Contrary to what skeptics allege, Exodus 34 and Deuteronomy 10 are not contradictory. Moses was not acting under divine direction to physically write the Decalogue on the second pair of tablets. Rather, as Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown recognized in their commentary on Deuteronomy, 'God Himself...made the inscription a second time with His own hand, to testify the importance He attached to the Ten Commandments.'”

@Ty Hibb

I just responded under The Z's answer above to Charles Davis' comment about his take on the difference between me and Dark Majinn.

I then scrolled down and saw your comment here.

In the brief second it took me to post my comment and scroll down this page, the concept of "silk purse and sow's ear" crossed my mind.

And then I saw your quote from Matt 7:6---spot on.

Also, Matt 10:14 "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet."

I suggested a number of months ago in one of my comments to Dark Majinn that Matt 10:14 contained advice that perhaps I should adopt with regard to him.

I suspect his anger suggests he may have some unresolved issues related to his rejection of what he received in the Sacrament of Baptism when it was administered to him as an infant.

I was never baptized ad an infant . . . hmmm, not that I can remember. But I did get baptized by choice at 16 when I dedicated my life to God . . . Anger and strife as far from my responses as they can be.
