I actually asked this question to see if it would be possible to include an image. Didn't work, even using HTML tags. Anybody got any clues?

I've done it a few times and know how to make it work but I don't do it much so the site doesn't go nuts with all the images.

Understood! We had one woman who was a bleeding nuisance. I was pleased when she left.

Dear Didge,

I don't know about the images...but I may be something of an expert on supermarket wonky wheels. The Wal-Mart in Des Moines had almost all wonky wheels, and I just assumed that someone had done a cost-benefit analysis that the store could increase its bottom line that way.

However with my particular set of sensitivities, I did end up shopping elsewhere partly for that reason.

So there, now your question has an answer (of sorts). And incidentally, I do feel some disillusionment here...always assuming Australia was a country where no supermarkets have wonky wheels.

I've had some wonky wheels in my time.                                                            As for posting a pic in a question? I don't know how to other than posting the image in an answer.

I'd get it every single time. The wonky wheel makes life more interesting.

Yes, in so many ways dragonflies do have a rather special edge on life...I really do feel SURE I have seen them in Wal-Mart with their winged trolleys...the corner of my eye, anyway...

Hahahahahahaha! I'd never confirm nor deny the possibility, some things must be left to your imaginations!

Happily, I've been much more fortunate in life than I have with grocery carts.  If there's a defective one in the bunch, I will almost always be the one to grab it.  But I'm glad that hasn't spilled into the rest of my existence! :)

Yes, I know the feeling. You sometimes have to intercept the stupid thing to avoid its crashing into your own car. :)

It's kind of hilarious. I no longer have the strength to control it downhill if the load is heavy so I have to pick a time when there are no cars driving by and just give the thing its head. In a sense it's a little like flying a hang glider -- a little pressure on one side to get it moving sideways and then hang on till the ground flattens out. I'm sure it gives the check-out people cause for laughter. :)

Wonky wheel, oh yes. Sometimes I am not sure it is the wheel or me.Most folks don't realize we elder citizens use the shopping cart more as a "walker" than something to carry groceries.

Been there, done that. Sometimes I need to use a walking stick but even on a bad day I find the trolley (aka cart) is a good substitute. :)

One of my favorite Peanuts cartoons has Linus saying to Charlie Brown "Well, that is the way life is - you win a few and you lose a few"  And Charlie Brown sighs and says "Wouldn't that be nice."
