I believe:  Good / Bad ... Right / Wrong ... Are artificial concepts, defined by society.  I try to act according to the concepts of the society I am in.

EG: In America, using bribes in business is "bad".  In other parts of the world, it is "a necessity".

If you had asked me 20 years ago, I would have given you some Pre-packaged religious nonsense based upon the dogma that particular belief system taught us to regurgitate.

Now, my world view labels things as "Good" when something  creates some sort of benefit to Sentient beings, and "Bad" when something creates a situation that is a detriment to sentient beings.

We all tend to take the worst possible scenario and the best possible scenario for humans, and based upon our region of the world, the culture we grew up in and those Experiences we had during our life that hones our reason and logic . . . And we take that slide bar, and move it between the Best thing, and the Worst thing to where we "feel" it belongs. We are aided by our innate Empathy and our ingrained Reciprocity from the evolution of our ancestors creating cultures and societies that help in man's survival.

That's a good question. I get my moral compass from the bible. I often think about world conditions and how far we have come from the philosophy of "love thy neighbor". By reading the bible for myself and applying what I read in my life it has had a positive effect on me and my family. I have learned that I have a higher quality of life now that I have a relationship with God
