Hypothetically, would colonising Mars benefit mankind or not, and why?

Well, based on what we’re doing to this planet, it certainly won’t benefit Mars at all.

The required logistics of sustaining a colony of humans in the Martian environment are overwhelming. Acquiring food and medical supplies, oxygen availability, sufficient fresh water, while battling the effects of less gravity and cosmic radiation, and not to forget the challenge of just staying sane would be an enormous challenge x  the number of humans present.

They need to send a rocket to Mars just to see if there is life on there that is exactly like Earth but i doubt that could ever happen in lifetime what type of rocket or spaceship could land on Mars?
