He was a rich prince and was very frustrated by his wealth and the violence around him which he was about to inherit. Prince Siddharta could not relate to his society  and left it to reflect on what is important.

He sat under a bodhi tree where he was born and related into deep meditation. He saw 4 types of life in his country. 1. A lamp for those in darkness, 2.a garment for those who are naked, 3. Am mother for children and 4. A boat for those who need one. This led him, to spiritual experiences.
