It makes people honoured and respected amongst others and Allah. It makes people maintain peace and brings them closer to islam and makes them feel more religious and pious. Going on hajj makes you more patient, nicer in yourself and also you get calmer more quickly when you are angry.

Hajj as a whole will inspire a Muslim to do better for themselves, God and the community. Each event symbolises a key way on how a Muslim can change for the better and keep on the straight path for life. Hajj has made great improvements in life for lots of Muslims. He is a changed man if he is sincere in his intention of achieving the Pleasure of Allah Almighty.

A person who has embarked upon the Hajj pilgrimage is known as a hajji or hajjah. A hajji is honoured in his or her community. For many people, the thought of being respected amongst the other members of his or her community prompts them to perform the Hajj. The term hajji, in fact, is translated as honourable pilgrim in the English language.

Hajj, according to the teachers of Islamic religious studies, is an expression of one's devotion to God and not a means to gain a higher status in society. This sentiment is reflected by a prayer which is known as the talbiyah prayer. The faithful should examine his or her beliefs and intentions before performing the pilgrimage and constantly strive for self-improvement. In spite of suffering a lot of physical hardships, the pilgrims who complete the Hajj successfully consider it to be one of the greatest spiritual experiences of their lives.

The Hajj basically is the Pilgrimage to Mecca carried out in Islam. It is the fifth section of the Five Pillars in Sunni Islam and one of the ten divisions of religion in Shi'a Islam.

Each and every able-bodied Muslim individual who can meet the expense of Hajj is obliged to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his entire life. Performing Hajj helps Muslim attain great mental peace and brings them close to their religion. During Hajj Muslim follow a strict a routine which helps them live life in a better way. The tolerance and patience level after and during Hajj is enhanced to quiet an extent.

In certain communities, an individual who has performed Hajj is known as a Hajji, but these names have no religious base. Islamic teachers also state that Hajj should be an expression of devotion towards Allah and not a way of attaining social standing.

We concern ourselves with the Hajj, and the pilgrims who
attend it? To begin with, the Hajj is an inherently communal and
international phenomenon, and a unique opportunity to study social interaction. The particular nature of the Hajj means that pilgrims mix across the lines of ethnicity, nationality, sect, and gender that divide them in everyday life.
