What you are asking about in the Bible is called "the Law of the Prophets." You wil find it in Matthew 7:12. "Therfore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: For this is the law and (of) the prophets." Mat 7:12 KJV

Other scrptures concerning it are Leviticus 19:18, Deuteronomy 5:14, Luke 6:31, Romans 13:9, and Galatians 5:14. Just so you know, this information is found in Nave's Topical Bible, under "Golden rule."

There does not seem to be one answer for this since Jesus took man's own laws(or interpretations) and turned them into a phrase that man could understand of what he intended to teach them in the way that they should treat each other.www.biblequestions.org/archives/bqar358.htm

Matthew 7:12 is known as "The Golden Rule" which we are called to practice towards one another.

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
