There are no real facts out there to fully explain Deja Vu. I always thought it was glimpse of a past life but there are many other theories as well. I've experienced it many times and I do believe it has something to do with past lives. Maybe this short video will help you out.

I believe there are many theories...but, personally, I think a logical one would involve how the brain works.  There are actually many similar 'vu' type experiences ... It's not just 'I've seen this before', but there are one's that give you the feeling that you've 'felt' something before or have 'been here' before ... Which provides you with knowledge about something that you 'shouldn't' know.  There is also a 'vu' that helps to explain a phenomenon of not being able to say a word or a name of someone you know you should know.  It's like a 'tip of the tonge' experience ... You know like when you see someone or are asked if you know someone's name (for example) .. It could be someone very close to you, like a good friend or family member, someone you should obviously know well .. But, for some reason you experience a 'brain fart' and can not spit out their name.  THAT is a 'vu' .. THAT vu can also be experienced by any number of people in the same group .. Where you ALL know a person you are referring to in the discussion, yet no one in the group can think of the name.  THAT is also a 'vu'.

These are suggested to be  a 'hick-up' or 'misfire' of the brain.  When we experience Deja Vu (for example) .. And your eyes are registering stimuli constantly, during this hickup phenomenon you see an image, the brain hickups and your consciousness gets out of sync with what you remember you are seeing and what you ARE seeing.
