"I am" appears in the Bible 719 times. 508 times in the Old Testament and 211 times in the New Testament. There are several times where the words are separated - such as "I (the Lord thy God) am...", but otherwise they are together. Probably the most well known usage of "I am" occurs in Exodus 3:14. The setting begins in v.13: "And Moses said unto God, behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, the God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, what is his name?, what shall I say unto them?". V.14, "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: And he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you". This is using the King James version. My source is: Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. Hope this helps.
The blue letter Bible a biblical website and search engine states that the phrase "I am is" used 811 in the KJV.
