No, they are atheist. I've seen an interview where they ridiculed the idea of god and that the existence of a deity is laughable. God doesnt not have anything with real rock n roll, especially punk poppy rock or what ever they are doing now.

Green Day is athiest,look at thier song lyrics. Also, I remember billy joel armstrong saying he had done gay stuff with a gay punk band. He's also communist and we should all get in are Vaults before his crap music causes a nuclear war [ Fallout joke]

They are my favorite band and I know a lot about them and I don't really know what they are but they're not atheist, listen to east jesus nowhere, song of the century, holiday, st. Jimmy and a lot others, there's like a lot of little things in their songs proving they are not atheist and if they were who cares theres nothing wrong with it. Goodbye person with a dumb question and labeling mind.

I truly hope so. Finally an American I can respect. Religion causes nothing but bad things. Stick to the truth - there is no God , Devil or Hell.

Yes it does matter to me. I love Green Day's music but a lot of it could be construed as atheist. While I love a lot of their songs, I'm not going to listen to music that denounces God.

Call them what you will, but no matter what, somebody is going to find a reason to make fun of them just to make themselves feel better. Does it really matter what they believe in? If you don't like their lyrics, then don't listen to them. It's that easy...personally, I love everything about Green Day!

I don,t think Green Day is an Atheist band what so ever. I'm the biggest Green Day fan known to man. So I think Green Day is Atheist.
