The answer to this is: Faith.
Is There Any Evidence That Jesus Rose From The Dead, Rather Than That His Body Was Snatched By His Followers To Create The Resurrection Myth?
Hello friend, I have figured out where that it is written down that Jesus rose from the tomb:) It is in John 20 and 21 has to do with Jesus' resurrection, and in John 19 it talks about his crucifixion. Acts 1 and 2 is where the holy spirit comes back and empowers the church. 500 people saw him raise from the grave. I hope this answers your question:)
Maybe proof will "still" not be good enough for some people in this world. Maybe god does not have time to appease the part of the world that is shouting out "show me proof "or else? Maybe the truth is in the pudding! Maybe the fact that some believe it was a "resurrection myth" tells a story in its own right... Maybe your question has no suitable answer for your heart... But I think it should have. Very much so sir "madmacstew". Very truly, delilahs2
Children of God, no need to argue with the non-believer's, you are most likely wasting your time. State the facts (God's Word), pray for the lost, and leave them in God's Hands. Either He will convict them and they will repent and get saved or they will unfortunately find out that He does in fact exist when they stand before Him on Judgement Day. GBY
Considering that you don't believe in God you sure spend a lot of time talking about his non existance on here,Believing in God is not always about Bible story's,its about the overpowering feeling that you have in heart and soul, that is the GodCenter, its sad that some people don't have one,Mr p,
The bible is the proof
Ok, first of all it would have been impossible for the disciples to steal his body. There were soldiers guarding the tomb so that his body wasnt stolen. Some people then say that the soldiers fell asleep, but falling asleep on while on watch was punishable by death for a Roman sentinel(soldier) so no guard would have fallen asleep, and if he did he never would have admitted it. Also, if the soldiers were asleep they wouldnt have know if it was the disciples who had supposedly stolen the body. Finally, the graveclothes were left in the tomb. If someone wanted to steal the body they wouldnt have taken the time to remove the graveclothes or even left them in the tomb. The graveclothes and spices that had been placed on the body were the most expensive things in the tomb. No theif would have left them there. The graveclothes were also neat and orderly, if someone had stolen the body and taken off the graveclothes they would have been wadded up.
Now, you are asking for evidence but are mentioning myths. Which is a little confussing, are you asking for proof that Jesus lived then and is alive in heaven today or are you just wanting to know the myths about his resurrection and what we Christians say in response to them? There are various myths against Jesus' resurection but all of them can be disproven. If you take a look at history you will see that no one would give their life and suffer as many brutal tortures as the early Christians did if they believed a myth. Jesus was and is real, they knew that and many times their courage when faced with death and unbearable pain converted unbelievers; they realized that someone would not willingly go through that unless what they believed was true.
Faith is partially necessary to believe that Jesus rose from the dead. But if/when you realize that God made the universe it is not that hard to believe that he could raise his son from the dead. I pray that you find truth; and I pray that I will see you in heaven when Jesus comes again, it pains me to think of where you will be going otherwise.

Just to drop a note on this subject, the true religion is old religion and 1. Christianity is a cult by saying they are they only way just like Jeffrey D. The only difference is Jesus was to long ago to remember. Come on you really believe in a book with a burning bush (acid trip) and a talking snake (more drug use) think of the time people... Really can we be so gullible. I was raised and used to be Baptist and I have dabbled in other religions since I was 18, they are all they same. Faith, faith, faith. Sorry to tell you this but if you have faith in anything as strong as most people have with religion and one book as the only proof, we would be much better off. By the way I am Wiccan (witch) now which means nothing to all of you other than what you and I were trained to believe about it. It has been the best choice I could have ever made I now have peace and harmony in my life and that was all I longed for. I did not get it from Christ! Oh you one more thing for the comment about Christmas... It is not Jesus's birthday... It is an old Pagan holiday that the Christians took so that the masses would follow. Just a little FYI..
The only reliable evidence died with the people who saw it, if "it" happened at all. The bible is the only other related "evidence", which for many reasons (bias, time of writing etc.) should be discredited. Even if Christian religion was right (which, let's be honest, it's not) why would Jesus' body be resurrected? Rather than just his soul? Isn't that the point of believing in God and being a "good Christian" - so that your soul will go to heaven?
Ok I'm saying the facts of what I believe and what I was taught in my church.
Ok I'm going to say the one thing know the most about. If you want to know more just say it.
god made the earth jesus died on the cross for us. Ok you may not believe about gods creation. But ok I'm not saying you non believers are fools but this is a TRUE FACT THAT EVERY ONE KNOWS. Why do we have april fools day? Well when it was that time there were ppl who believe in nothing. Well that can't be bcs like every thing has a reason.so somthing just can't appear out of no where! A whole planet systime and thousands of animals and ppl and light lightning dark and thunder. It just can't apear god is the reason.
Now when jesus came to earth he was relived in his fathers planet.earth he lived among the non believers and believers. He didnt have his same mind. He knew that he was special but he wasnt like,"ok I need to grow up and dy for these ppl". Then what you here the it happens he dys on the cross and is put in a cave rapt tite in cloths and was prept in all like they did to mummies! Aha theres a little proof. What ppl did for the dead they put spices on deadys and rapt in cloth during the times with alexander the great.and they did it to jesus... Then they put a heavy bolder across the cave. To open the cave they would need there strong soldiers. Then when mary and her friends cae to put flowers down and to see it one last time the heavy bolder was gone and the cloth was pure clean and rapt neatly.
There were many who didnt believe the news. That jeus was alive there is a story in the bible of when a man sneaked into jesus' room where a feast was he looked at his hands and saw the holes in his handrs and was so like wowed that it was really him and he was there saver he crashed in a pot. Usally when a royal prsn is enterrupted and is not pleased that prsn is killed.jesus just looked then helped the man up and asked him to eat with him. The man was stil scared that he mite kill him after he ate but he lived for longer years to come.
Hers some more PROOF thats the proof your looking for. I watch a old woman named gloria copand and she is talking about in her ministries about living long living strong. And they had a special guest.....he is 107 years old! And guess what? He is a christian. And it is a new one so he is still living.

We were up on the stage prayiing for the ppl who need prayer. When we were going back to our seats he hit a chair. He didnt feel a pian! And then when I heard comosion going on I looked then he was hitting his legs agian and agian. There was large sound of hallaluas and glory to gods! He was cured! He started running around and it changed my life to. When I saw that I knew every thing was true. I already believed in him but I didnt comit my life to him so then I only watched good shows and then well if you read my profile youl klnow. I was blessed! Every christmasi got a new animal and right now I'm blessed with 6ferrets 1giuneapig 1hamster and 3 dogs and 9new bon puppies. Oh you and if you say merry christmas then you do have some faith in you. Bcs look what do you see? Merry CHRISTmas your saying I'm happy of this day bcs this day jeusus was born on earth for us! =)

Considering that there is no proof that he lived in the first place, I'd say that there is no proof that came back to life. But the one broad has a point, that is kind of the whole point of faith (even though that wasn't really an answer).
There is much MUCH more evidence that jesus actually lived and died for us then he didnt.
I don't believe there can be any evidence for anything supernatural, although he could simply have recovered from a coma rather than from the dead. Equally, I don't believe that there's any proof that his followers deliberately wanted to create the resurrection myth - I think it was just one of those things that happened over time.
Hi Madmacstew, I have seen/read a little about atheists. (Not meaning to pre-judge you). Wow. I don’t know where to start, my dear sir! This “answer” is not just for you but for everyone.
I am a lover/pursuer of truth. (Not because someone told me to be, I decided for myself. I used my brain.) Truth is reality. You know, if you pursue truth, then you pursue God---because God is truth! Isn’t that cool? Since I seek truth, my faith is based on reason/logic. My faith is true. If I am ever assailed by legitimate doubts or challenges to my faith, I therefore face them head on instead of fearfully burying my head in the sand, because truth is my goal. And true faith will stand to an honest test. In the end, with God’s grace, my faith ends up being strengthened. Because it is true.
Sorry, but are you really a pursuer of truth? Ask yourself. (Well at least you asked a religious question) It is vital that you be open-hearted to accept the truth. It can be hard, and may take a while to accept your conscience. Pride, pride, pride, pride, pride, pride, pride. It distorts things. Everyone has it. I have plenty of it. Is she saying I'm too proud? Too proud to think correctly? What does it matter, even if I am? Ask yourself if it is true, that’s all that matters. I'm not saying that’s categorically one of your problems. But it probably is.
As an aside, “truth relativity,” or the belief that there are different, conflicting truths, is an absurd notion. Truth is one. Need I explain? Can 2+2 equal 4, and not equal 4? And the suggestion itself is self-contradictory. “Truth is relative” says John Doe. “Is that statement an absolute truth or a relative truth?” asks the wise (wo)man. If John answers relative then I can refute that for not being “my truth.” If he says its absolute then he is being even more illogical and self-contradictory than before, because he is going against his claim that truth is relative. But enough about that trash.
O Science, what falsehoods are stated in your name! In actuality, you undergird the one true faith! Evidence is great. Science is wonderful . Faith goes further, allowing you to believe truths that need not only reason but also spiritual perception. It is a gift only God can give, a lasting virtue, given in good time and promptness to persons who have arrived at spiritual truths, such as the existence of God, and are willing to accept them because their hearts are sincere .
Madmacstew, in your profile you quote “Religion is the opiate of the masses.” [for you confused readers, he is paraphrasing a quote attributed to the Communist Karl Marx, which claims that religion is used to satisfy and dope down the masses of people who don’t think for themselves] In various ways, religion is/has been used in this way. But it doesn’t have to be. The religion that is true stands alone from this ideology. And there is only one true religion.
Now that I’ve said all that I can say that I am a (traditional) Catholic. Heehee isn’t prejudice annoying? Well I'm blessed to belong to the one true religion. (I go to the traditional Latin Mass, celebrated by traditional Catholic priests, who are loyal to the Pope but not to new age, unofficial modern leanings made by the Church in recent times.)
The doctrine of the Resurrection is embedded in and supported by our (the Church’s) other official doctrines, which are in turn based on logic and truth. The Catholic Church, as can be proved, is an infallible/indefectible institution (see official catechism). (And the Bible is not a relatively pure source of God’s word without the Church to approve and interpret it. In fact, the Bible is pro-Church). Remember however that the infallibility/indefectibility ONLY applies when it is officially declared by the pope that such and such a thing is true. I shall not write a book here on all that stuff because there are already many good books. There are many ways to find out the truth about God and Jesus, with the help of logic, openness, and prayer. You can find this information easily enough, although you will come across poor books and sources as well. Even good sources may have little slip-ups. Life just isn’t perfect, so DON’T get caught on small questionable stuff you find and say OPE THAT’S IT WITH CATHOLICISM! (One good book I own is Catholic Apologetics by Fr. John Laux). So in all events use your brain, and keep a sincere heart and pray. Don’t rush yourself in any progress you may have, but don’t go any slower than you must.
Okay this is getting VERY scatter-brained so I apologize. And long. In fact, I’ve put so much effort into this, I’ll probably reuse it many times. And in fact, it’s the second time I'm writing this because the first time I was well along when I pressed backspace and everything DISAPPEARED. Coincidence, I think not—it was probably demonic intervention. And if you don’t believe in demons, and don’t believe the infallible Church yet, read about it, for one thing on this URL www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/devils_music.ht I do not necessarily believe everything listed on that site. You’ll want your computer on mute, to not have kids around, and to be careful for your own good about the pictures and immorality discussed. It’s very enlightening, despite not being written by Catholics.
Anyways, I like St. Thomas Aquinas’s five proofs of the existence of God. They are all deductive logic, except perhaps the intelligent design one, whose margin of error is nevertheless unfathomably minute. I also like St. Anselm’s ontological proof, though I’ve heard Aquinas didn’t trust it.
More on the Resurrection. Extra stuff. I advise you, if you are seeking truth, to investigate a book called A Doctor at Calvary: The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ as Described by a Surgeon. Easily found on Google. It is a scientific analysis of the holy shroud, including its authenticity. The author also describes evidence from the shroud that he believes proves the Resurrection. (Not that it needs another proof than what I was talking about earlier.) In fact, he describes a resulting instantaneous conversion he witnessed of a good friend of his who was an atheist intellectual and acquainted with the author’s field of study.
For some more “fun,” delve into the unexplainable incorrupt bodies of saints in Rome and elsewhere. Research the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, another ongoing miracle that defies scientific laws but has been investigated by scientists and declared “an extraordinary phenomenon.” This list is by no means exhaustive.
Learn about the message of Fatima, vital information for our present time.
I also recommend investigating this blog, for one: Conversiondiary.com . This woman is remarkably insightful and blessed with rationality.
When you are ready (and no later) start praying the 15 mysteries of the Rosary. Eventually, pray at least 5 daily. Wear the Brown Scapular.
Now I will say right now, knowing a little about how atheists like their run-around-in-circles arguments, that I have spent quite enough time on this, and I don’t intend to carry on an eternal argument about something I already know to be true with someone who doesn’t want to see truth. Just because you can get the last word in doesn’t mean you win. I don't mean I did a perfect job, but I have a motto that I follow (in moderation): “Leave fools to their folly.” But are you a fool? You don’t have to be. I am trying to be both charitable and firm, but in humility I say it may only be this easy since I don’t know you .
It’s up to you, dear Madmacstew, and dear reader. This is the highest honor I can give you: Respect for your potential for rationality and good will. My best wishes for you. May the true God of Love grant everlasting faith upon you, and all virtue and salvation, Who is all-just but also infinitely merciful. And know that but for the grace of God, I would not have faith either.
Truth forever!!
Ave Jesu et Maria! May we all meet in Heaven!

Ave Jesu et Maria! May we all meet in Heaven!
The most cited evidence is the shroud of Turin, which simply proves that a proto-hippie was wrapped in a towel.
Yes he DID rose from the dead, his followers were to afraid to even see him until the three sisters, or you know went to see the grave and he was gone. HE ROSE,that's why he was GONE! Thank you!
Let me get something strait, just because Jesus is not in his grave dosen't mean that he rose. His body disintegrated 2,011 years of being dead. It takes a few days for the decomposition to take place. His body has been gone for 2,010 years because it takes a year for it to decompose completely.
For someone who wants real answers with evidence, they are out there. Read "Evidence that demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell, an investigative journalist who went looking for actual historical proof to determine whether or not Jesus rose from the dead. You don't have to turn off your brain to know Jesus. Check out some other answers here: www.josh.org/site/c.ddKDIMNtEqG/b.4172665/k.4AD0/Evidence_fo
No there is nothing that says they did or didnt
