Why Did Sir Syed Ahmed Khan Propose The Two-nation Theory?

In 1885 Indian national Congress was formed. The british saw this as a means by which the voice of India could be heard. But congress proved 2 be a hindu doinated body. It introduced competitive examinations. Appointments in the government was to be by competitive examinations. Hindus were getting better education than Muslims. This moved sir syed who went against this & said that it could only work when both the nations recieved the same level of education.
Congress called for a democratic system in india similar 2 that of britain. This also upset sir syed who said that as the Hindus were in majority they would win every election.He ignored such an action which would undermine Muslims.
The most imp. Reason for the introduction of 2 nation theory was because of hindi-urdu controversy. Hindus wanted hindi 2 b the official language after English whereas the Muslims wanted urdu 2 take this position. Sir syed was really upset when the members of his scientific society wanted the journal 2 b published in hindi. Thus he introduced 2 nation theroy stating that Hidus & muslims are 2 sperate nations. 

Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was of the view that Muslims cannot live peacefully, at that time, with Hindus because of religious and cultural reasons. He at that time presented Two nation theory which stated that Hindus and Muslims cannot live together because of their differences and presented two nation theory which then became base of struggling towards another Muslim state. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan laid importance on getting modern education for Muslims so that they can remain with changing trends and strggle for their rights. He also established a college for this purpose.

Sir syed ahmed khan was apalled by the pitiable state of the muslims. He tried to reform their social, educational and political conditions. He proposed the two nation theory because after the war of independence the british determined the muslims as the cause of it and were very biased towards the muslims in their punishment. They ignored the part other nations played in it. Apart from that the muslims are apart from all other nations of the world because of their inability to adopt new customs in reiligon as it is unlawful for them. Sir syed did not categorize this theory for only the muslims of the subcontinent. He meant the word muslims for muslims all over the world.

Because sir syed know that muslim and hindus never live together in a particular society.
Both nations are jalous of each other and they have to live in individual society.
Thats why he laid two nations theory to make ready both the nations to live seperatly.

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was a great educator, politician, Islamic reformer and modernist. He knew that Muslims and Hindus are two separate nations by every definition. They had different cultures, habits, rituals and most importantly their religions have so many things uncommon. He knew that they can't live together so he gave the idea of two nation theory that was inspiration for Allama Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah to free Pakistan and won independence.
