Well some people have different believes for this, the Christians believe it all started with God, who created 2 people a male and a female then he created the sea the sun the sky the trees and all that. The 2 people wanted children so God said to him...... You Must Die to receive children or the world will be filled with people.

This is what happened in the Bible

Genesis 1
The Beginning
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: Seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: Plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

20 And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: The livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
  in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

God took some dirt and breathed life into it making the first man named adam then he put adam to sleep took a rib from his side and made his help meet/mate and called her eve. Before this he created the heavens and the earth . In other words he did it all.

It is actually very simple to answer. God created everything and the big bang was the way he transformed energy into matter to form the earth and the whole universe.. Einstein proofed that with his famous quotation that energy can be turned into matter and vice versa. For me it is not God versus the big bang theory. There are two schools of thought. The first one is the "Big Bang" theory whereby creation was triggered. The second one is the "Steady State" theory. This theory claims that everything was , is and will be forever. There was no beginning and there will be no end. I simply cannot get a grip on this. It sounds to simple and one dimensional to believe.

Saying God made life is like saying a thief has coitted the theft when some theft has taken place. Those who say god made life can they explain the details how he madethe life. Life is a physical thing, there have to be physical reasons for its causes.

From doing some reach and reading the bible there are a lot of things missing in the bible missing parts that even the person who wrote the bible can't even explain,  life is made of of cells thats the basic unit of life it all started from cells evolving in to tissues and systems working to-gather to form things think about it everything is made up from cells, you the big bang theory is a theory on how life got started but then how did earth and different forces appear they can't  different moving of particles and substances in the atmosphere over a long period of time made some kind of thing were one thing effected the other making life just a chain order over time.

What a goof. now how do you know that, you weren't there to witness this. to tell you the truth, you should not come down so hard on a youngling..... which i am. but many never consider this. but if you explained it how you did in my shout box i would find it quite interesting. and to me you got me interested in that theory.

Bub, I fully agree with you concerning the ID concept of creation. Faith is why we believe something when we're not there to see it. I believe it's daytime as the sun is up yet I personally was not there to see it rise. In the same manner I believe God created the heavens and earth although not being there to see it happen. In a lighter sense there are times when dealing with my board of directors I'd sure like to have that rib back!

I'm 13 but  I know that some people believe that god created this planet. But in scientific theory it was made up of the elements in the periodic table and that's why we find all these different substances and gases in our planet. (the substances all join together to make the earth and it all comes from stars)!! Hope it helped.

Like what you say when you lose someone, and are burying them, "ashes to ashes, and dust to dust". God made everything, and people too, he made people from ashes and dust. That's what I believe. I really can't say that I believe in the big bang theory, as there isn't anything really that can support it. Just my opinion though.

I believe that God created the Earth in a way we could understand. So I believe that science is correct, but God made all that stuff happen.

Well, personally I believe in the scientific theory: The collision of energy and the magma cooling, the iron sinking, and such.

However, if you talked to my Catholic aunt, she probably would tell you the story of Adam and Eve. Or maybe not, considering her son's a Physics major. I'd have to ask her. I really do not understand how a book that was written fairly recently can tell you anything. Then again, you're talking to an Atheist who was raised as a Jew and Christian.

I do agree that humans don't understand things. This is why science is ever-changing, as we figure out more and more. The bible seems to stay the same. I don't have anything against it,  I just don't believe it. Look, everyone has different ideas, conflicting "evidence." Just keep an open mind, and maybe in a few million years we will figure it out. You can't just believe everything for eternity.

Oh, and sumter? If something was smart enough to figure out how to create the galaxies, can you explain to me why he would create humans? I'd hardly call this world well-ordered.

God created it. Need proof? Read the first book of the Bible, Genesis. It will be the best thing you ever did, was read the Bible. Still need proof? Don't believe that old words written in a book is proof enough? Have faith in God. Open your heart and ask the Lord to help you trust Him, and ask Him to help you see it as the truth that the Bible is.

A result of any big bang (explosion) is chaos. The intricate well ordered creation certainly cannot be the result of a big bang. It makes no sense.
