Islam has prescribed prayers or 'Salaat' for Muslims five times a day.  There are many types of salaat, which include 'Farz', 'Sunnat', 'Wajib' and 'Nafil' prayers.  As far as Farz prayers are concerned, they are the prayers having the highest degree of obligation.  In short, Farz prayers couldn't be ignored by Muslims at any cost.  These have the most profound weight in the eyes of the Almighty.  Coming to the 'Wajib' prayers, they are a smidgen less in importance than Farz prayers, although their vitality is still greater than Sunnat and Nafil prayers.  The Sunnat prayers, as evident from their comprehension, are the prayers, which the Muslims pray while exclusively following the example of the Holy Prophet (P.B.you.H), as all the Sunnat prayers were uttered by the Holy Prophet (P.B.you.H) for his followers to imitate his actions later on.  Last but definitely not  least, the 'Nafil' prayers are, in pure layman terms, categorized as 'extra credit' prayers.  If a Muslim offers Nafil prayers, then he/she is surely given credit for it by the Almighty but if they don't pray Nafil prayers, they are not to be blamed for not offering them.
