Andrew, the first to recognize Jesus, and the one to bring his brother Peter into the circle.

John, the closest to Jesus; and probably Jesus' cousin.

Peter, who was excitable and zealous.

James, the brother of John.

Mary Magdalene was a disciple of Jesus, who provided hospitality for him, on more than one occasion.  Jesus expelled "seven demons" from her, and she dutifully ministered to his needs.

When Jesus suffered on the instrument of his death, Mary and other female disciples, watched from "a distance", cautiously, since Jewish restrictions obligated them to restrain themselves.

These restrictions would not have permitted Mary to be in Jesus' inner circle', but she was certainly one the many grateful women that had been cured by Jesus, and enjoyed the privilege of being one of those who knew and served him.

Peter, James, and John. No where in the Bible does it refer to Mary being apart of the inner 3. It can be concluded that these are the 3 by them being the witnesses of Christs transfiguration on the mountain. Also there are no other external records to show any ideas of Mary being apart of Christ life to such an extent. Although you may say she was a close follower, but to say she was maybe apart of the inner 3 is to far out philosophically. You are starting to deal with more of the controversies that people are proposing. Which all fail, because in the end that's all they are is controversies. If something had to happened then you would think with a man as popular as Jesus Christ, even Josephus would've written about it later. But we have nothing to even hint at such a thing. Other than a persons imagination and wishful thinking.

Probably Peter, James and John and some say also Andrew.  Many are beginning to believe that Mary Magdalene played a very important role in the life of Jesus and was also a member of that inner circle.

Jesus has three of his closest disciples see a spectacular foregleam of his glory in Kingdom power. This visionary preview is called the transfiguration.

Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up into a lofty mountain—likely a ridge of Mount Hermon. There, Jesus is “transfigured before them, and his face shone as the sun, and his outer garments became brilliant as the light.” (Matthew 17:1-6)
