What are some superstitions that have scientific basis?

Many superstitions have a basis in common sense, not so much "science" per se.

Walking under a ladder is bad luck. Right, it could fall over on you or someone working on it could drop something on you and hurt you.

A broken mirror is 7 years bad luck. They didn't have vacuums, so it probably took 7 years to find all those bits of busted glass.

See what I mean?

Instead of being crass be thankful for information . . . validate if you want but opinions should be able to be expanded upon or discussed . . . right?

Nah, I just answered a question, Kaywinnet had to stick her abnormally large nose in and try and sound intelligent (when anyone with two synapse that actually fire could figure out I was being sarcastic.)
