No, it is not. Few faiths are.

At present, certain factions of Islam are the most immediate, pernicious threats to all of humanity, our historical treasures, freedoms and peace in the world.

Islam, in its most basic context, is entirely incompatible with modern life and society, is hostile to freedom of thought, speech and press, and an impediment to the advancement of our species. It is social and intellectual slavery, presented as faith.

If you doubt me, ask a Muslim woman,....Oh, right, you won’t. She might be beaten for speaking out, and she knows it.

Let me try again:
1. It's not your fault DM. It's probably our herd mentality stemming from our deep rooted survival instinct. It even shows up in the least expected of places, like our judicial systems. You see, it takes a very courageous judge to say that he sees where those regarded by the public as "the devil" [used to be witches at one time] is coming from. He HAS to deliver the verdict the people [the herd] expects. His survival depends on it.

2. Your post started off giving the impression that you saw where I was coming from, but you were uncomfortable with that and ended up weaving your way back to the same verdict as before. It's a shame, but we can't help that.

3. Anyway, I wonder whether you have the courage to apply that same judgement or verdict to all other constitutions and how they are manipulated. A constitution may have 2 to 3 hundred people owing allegiance to it, but it just takes a handful of those in power to use it to legitimise, on very dubious grounds, a shock and awe bombardment of a cradle of civilization, thousands of miles away, back to the stone ages.

4. As for me, I better go looking for someone who's better able to programme me to see my constitution as you see it, a constitution that requiring me to kill everyone who don't share my views and, if I still fail to see it that way, deliver me to the appropriate punishment.

Well most wars today are waged by muslims and 80% of terrorists are muslims, so I think that islam is not quite peaceful... But hey, Christianity is not any better...

NO! There is only one faith, one way, one truth and one life, and that is of Jesus Christ.

Incorrect. There are literally thousands of different faiths, and there are as many versions of “truth” as there are believers.

Your intolerance of these is noted, though.

Q "Is Islam peaceful?"

1. Anyone who strongly disagrees with the points below and has powerful evidence to refute them with will of course do so.

2. Humanity
has progressed a lot in knowledge and technology, yet it is woefully
behind in shedding its baggage of prejudices and herd mentality. Popular belief especially when fuelled by prejudice against the "them" spreads like wildfire and is as hard, if not more so to put out. If compared to a bandwagon, it's one that everyone wants to jump onto because if one doesn't jump on then one is in danger of being regarded as one of "them" or a sympathiser of "them". Sad that, very sad.

3. Islam is a tool, a practical, tried and tested and found to be very useful tool. Like a knife, it too, by itself, cannot benefit or harm anybody. It is, by itself, neither peaceful nor violent.

4. Just as a knife is used by the vast majority of its users to benefit the user and others, so is Islam used by the vast majority of its users to benefit the user and others.

5. Also, just as a knife is used by a very few of its users to do serious harm to others, so is Islam used by a very few of its users or followers to do serious harm to others.

6. Therefore, just as it is dumb to blame a knife for the violence committed by a few of its users, it is similarly dumb to blame Islam for the violence committed by a few of its users or followers.

What a poor analogy. There are no instructions on a knife telling one to kill those who don’t care to hold that knife.

I previously avoided commenting on this bunkum, to spare you the embarassment of having to recant it, and the rest of us the chore of enduring another of your displays of missing the point.

Islam is more than the words in a book, it is the communities of humanity under its spell, both are heinously infected by ignorance and evil.

1. It says a lot DB, if the only criticism you can come up with is "What a poor analogy."

2. "There are no instructions on a knife telling one to kill those who don’t care to hold that knife." >>> precisely, and yet there are a few who do use a knife to kill those who don’t care to hold that knife.

3. Similarly, there are no instructions in the HQ telling one to kill those who don’t care to hold on to the HQ and yet there are a few who do kill those who don’t care to hold on to the HQ.

4. Posts intended as insults like "avoided commenting on this bunkum" and "heinously infected by ignorance and evil" are
a] only a reflection on the person making them
b] a provocation to respond with insults and
c] evidence that the person has nothing sensible to say.

5. "Read the damn book, Ice. Cover to cover." >>> is further evidence of your penchant for making statements without evidence.

Hey! Shut your mouth! What proof do you have that Islam isn't peaceful? There are difference verses from the Quran that says Islam is peaceful.

According to the name "ISLAM" it etymology from Arabic is from the word "salam" which means "shalom" or peace.

When you open a thread of this kind you need to provide proofs from the quran or sayings of Prophet Mohammad which appraise islam as an unpeaceful religion.

However, you have failed from inception because your words are clearly propaganda which makes no sense to anyone which a perfect condition of thinking.

We know that some criminals have been inspired by and even modeled their crimes on what they've seen in some of movies. Is it reasonable mature reasoning to then say that those movies are crime advocating movies?

Inspiration or Belief . . . to get an idea or to LIVE by a WAY OF LIFE.
In Bushido, you live that code and you die by that code . . I brand Islam in the same light . . . to say someone got an idea on "how to kill a wife" by watching a movie is NOT parallel to a belief system you live your life by . . . Oh and a LITERAL interpretation WOULD have it's follow commit murder in the name of Allah . . . not just suggest it as some symbolic reference.

Apologies for not responding to your post earlier. I don't recall seeing it in my notifications. It caught my eye in passing just now.

Okay, as evidence for your claim why don't I let YOU select the most damning verse which your interpretation tells you that it is obviously commanding its followers to kill innocent people.
