What Happens After Death (But Before Judgement Day)? What Does One's Soul Do And Where Does It Go?

Most of the major religions claim to have an idea of what happens after death. Some talk about a final judgement that follows the end of the world (time-scales differ).

Until this final day of reckoning, it is thought the soul remains asleep.

According to certain religious groups, his final day is coming very soon.

What happens to the soul after death?

Christians, Muslims and Jews have varying beliefs about afterlife and heaven, and within those faiths there is endless disagreement.

As far as the soul is concerned, there is a lot of debate and disagreement about what is exactly meant to happen to it immediately after death.

Even people of the same religion can't agree about exactly what happens.

Disagreement about the afterlife

Many Catholics believe that souls suffer a period known as purgatory, where they must stay until cleansed of their sins; other Christians believe that good people go straight to whatever version of paradise they believe in.

One prevalent theory is that there is a 'holding' place - an intermediary between life and death.

After death in different faiths

Some faiths, such as Hinduism, believe that souls are reincarnated in different forms until they find enlightenment. Some people believe in punishment after death (hell), while others don't.

There is only one certain fact to be gained from all these different ideas, which is: Not one single person has ever come back to tell us what happens after death. Anyone who tells you that they know what happens when we die is not telling the truth.

NOBODY knows- please remember that! If anyone tries to tell you that they "know" God's mind: They don't.

I will agree with you that no one knows exactly what happens when we die, as the Bible is somewhat ambiguous. However, I completely disagree that no one "knows" if God exists at all. I KNOW GOD EXISTS. Though He has not physically appeared to me or anything, I have had very personal encounters with Him that i KNEW were Him. In fact, just the other evening, while in prayer, God spoke some very, very specific things to me. When I went to do my Bible reading that evening, there was nearly everything He spoke with me about in my heart on that ride home while I was praying. If you would just have even a tiny bit of faith, and step out on it, God will honor that by revealing Himself to you more and more. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. If YOU don't know for sure that He exists, it is so sad!! He is a REAL God that wants to interact with you PERSONALLY. He will speak with you!! Give Him a chance and BELIEVE.

You don't seem to realize how deeply you are contradicting yourself. To affirm that what someone is saying is not true requires that you master the truth. In other words you should know absolutely that there is no God and it is absolutely impossible to "know" anything after a person dies. How did you manage to know that?? Don't use the argument of the plurality of religious interpretations, please.

ALL LIVING THINGS in this world will gather in a place called 'alam barzakh' - and that moment, we will know if we get in heaven or hell.

According to qur'an, after muslims had been punished in hell for all the wrong things that they've done, they will get into heaven but in their forehead will get a mark which will show that they're from hell.

In heaven, we can do whatever we want. Drink alcohol, have sex, WHATEVER WE WANT. And our souls are not just vanished. We will live FOREVER and we will not get bored.

Keep reminding yourself that we'll NOT JUST VANISH, NEVER.
