How Do You Turn Into A Merman?

I think you must first catch a mermaid, then ask her for a kiss (kinda like the frog turning into a prince only in reverse) be sure its a mermaid and not a merman or you will turn into all fish

You have to go very far out to see and capsize in a terrible storm and then a mermaid comes to rescue you and you have to make her fall in love with you and then when she kisses you if you are her true love you become a merman and live happily ever after . :)

I would imagine that a normal person could not be changed into a merperson. I would think that a merchild would have to be the product of the union of a mermaid and a merman. Wait a minute here, how do fish procreate anyway? Are these fish or people? Maybe 1/2 fish and 1/2 human?
