It means someone(s) who is not of God or goodness is going to try and interrupt your walk with God or of goodness with temptation and of words. (snake=long tail or tale...words). So someone is talking to you, at you , or about you that may cause you to be ungodly or good. Like getting involved with gossip or rumors..etc...that may cause you to walk unrighteously. Not once, but three times of temptation. Pray that you can recognize it when it happens and stay on the right path and walk straight.
