Conformation bias? . . .

The need to feel they have been brought up (Indoctrinated) to believe "The Right one" . . Since many belief system require strict belief in ONLY that system. Christian Doctrine has several passages that refer to other religious teachings and assigns them to "False Prophets".

In India, there is remarkable tolerance of, if not respect for, most religions. This is remarkable, given recent attacks by muslim extremists, and the deeply-felt results of historic partition.

No country gets it absolutely right, although India gets it more right than most.

I should be honest and say  and that my staff in India, all of whom were Hindus, actively discouraged me from employing Muslims, whom they saw as a disruptive influence in the workplace.  I saw no actual evidence of that.

I don't believe that there was any "dislike" based upon the faith itself,
