I find the question about Greek gods interesting. When I was very young I was fascinated by Greek mythology. Also, being a student of the Bible I wanted to reconcile the idea of gods and GOD. What
I discovered was very interesting (at least to me). In the first book of the Bible ,Genesis Chapter 6 verse 1 & 2 it says:

{6 Now it came about that when men started to grow in numbers onthe surface of the ground and daughters were born to them,  then the sons of the [true] God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose.}

What does this mean? Well, after God made men and women, angles in heaven saw these women and started to have unnatural thoughts. They took the form of men ( as former angels they must of been awe inspiring to see beautiful and powerful) and started to take women as wives for themselves. These angles in the form of men would have extraordinary powers and people started to think of them as gods. The ofspring of these debased angels were called "Neph′i·lim" (pronounnced nef eh lim). Chapter 6 verse 4 of Genesis says of these angel - human hybrid creatures: The Neph′i·lim proved to be in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the [true] God continued to have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame.

Now lets compare all that with Greek and Roman mythology. The Greek and Roman gods started to take women as wives. These women then gave birth to hybrid humans who were bigger and stronger than men and became men of fame. (Think of Hercules)

Isn't it interesting that these stories of mythology parallel the Bible so closely? Most legends have some bases from fact as does the stories of Greek and Roman mytholog, however, it is rarely shown more clearly than the Bible account and Mythology about the gods and how they came to be.

These angels would have left their human bodies and returned to their normal state as invisable angels and hybrid humans would have been destroyed at the flood of Noah's day.
