Following are festivals, in sequence of Muslim's calender or also known as Lunar calender, in religion Islam celebrated by Muslims all over the world.
..
The first one is Ashura observed with great grief and mourning(not celebrated) in Islamic month of Muharram, Ashurs is a day of mourning for the Shia Muslims, and is better called an observance than a festival. It doesn't form part of the calendar of the Sunni Muslims.
..
But both Sunni and Shia Muslims fast on 10th and 11th Moharram OR 9th and 10th Muharram in remembrance of Mosses gaining victory over Pharoah. Mosses is consideres as Prophet and Messenger sent by GOD.
..
Then comes Eid-Milad-ul-Nabi or also known as Eid-e-Milad, Eid-e-Milad is a particularly holy day because Prophet Mohammed-Peace be upon him(on whom religion Islam was revealed by GOD) was born and later died on this day of the Muslim calendar. Eid-e-Milad comes in Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. The name Muhammad means "Praiseworthy".
..
Then comes, Lailat al Miraj (Isra' & Mi'raj) Celebrates the Ascension of Prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) to Heaven and all seven skies. Muhammad even met Prophets like Jesus, Mosses, Abraham, Adam and David there.
..
Then comes the famous and very important month of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast for 28 to 30 days depending on citation of moon.
..
When Ramadan ends, comes the widely awaited and celebrated FESTIVAL OF EID-UL-FITR. Eidi(Money given by elders to juniors) is a special charm for kids and teenagers on that day.
..
Then comes the sacred "Hajj" event in which Muslims all around the world gathers in Mecca.
..
After Hajj comes another MEGA FESTIVAL of EID-UL-ADHA in which Muslims celebrate Abraham's sacrifical act in which he was going to even sacrifice his son in name of God.
