The real christian reads the Bible for instruction and edification , wisdom and knowledge. This is were your faith is developed . From hearing the word and meditating daily. Now those who don't read on a regular basis can be hearers of the word and not doers as the word say's in the Bible , but I can't judge the manner of the way a person learns from GOD cause we all are subject to a choice in everything we do and that includes how we learn from the word. Just because a person doesn't read as often as I do doesn't say they are any less of a christian then I am. Never reading the Bible is just a church goer" if they go to church."will be ignorant of knowledge about the Bible not knowing anything about the word.
I strongly agree with the way this reader answered this question. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and most Christians believe that His Word is the living truth. During my first 2 years of being saved, I believed in God, but I didn't have a relationship with Him. When I began to read His Word on a daily basis,I began to learn what it what is is that God expects from His children. It holds true that many people rely on their pastors to quote scriptures and for interpretation of God's Word. However, there are some people who would rather not become familiar with His Word because they do not want to be held accountable. In order to gain knowledge on anything in life, is normally by way of experience, studying , or doing research.
I THINK THAT THE ONES THAT READ THE BIIBLE AND APPLIED IT TO THEIR LIVES ARE REAL CHRISTIANS , AND THE OTHER ONES ONLY SERVE AS BENCHWARMERS EVERY SUNDAY.
Some Christians, like me, read the Bible on a regular basis to find out more about God and the people who have followed him throughout the ages. Christians who don't read the Bible tend to either believe that the Bible is confusing or they think that they can just hear it from there pastor. As long as you follow the Bible and aren't pulled away from God, it doesn't really matter. But I still think that people should read the Bible. It's great and it's God's holy word.
Because the Bible is God's Word to our hearts; God's Word is for our spirit what food is for our body. Once we've teased and have seen how Good is the Lord, we keep wanting more. It becomes an unquenchable need - a hunger and thirst that only He can satisfy. "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is Good!"
There are many who do not read or properly study the Bible because they think that their mere "belief" in Jesus is enough for them. But they don't realise that anyone who truly believes in Christ Jesus would want to seek the truth and find out more about Him by studying the Word of God.
Thanks for all your answers this has really helped me with my Homework.
I think that all people who say they are Christians are and most have looked and read certain sections of the Bible. I think most read the Bible in dilemma's and may read parables.
