Is the world really going to end this year? Because there is stuff saying the world is ending this year.

No there is not any such kind of news....!!!

The only way the world will end this year is if one of these countries with Nuclear weapons pushes the red button and all hell breaks loose ! As long as the Nuclear genie is in his bottle, the world will keep going on. I can't figure out why every few years some fool starts these rumors.

No one knows when the world will end, only God knows.

The world was also supposed to end last year.... And in 2013... And in 2012..yet we are still here. No one knows the date of the end of this current system of things.

The world is ending for someone every day.

Yeah, no one knows when the world will end, we don't know much until the time comes on what will happen.

You do know they say the world is going to end every year. They find reasons to say it and I don't know why. Probably just so news shows have something to talk about.

No freaking way! The world won't end. Although in about a billion years the sun will suck up the earth and everything will start all over again starting from the beginning. I don't know if dinosaurs will rule the earth again. Not quite sure but nah, the world ain't ending so soon! I'm too young to die! Only 15-years-old!

Every generation has claimed that the end is here, since the supposed death of Jesus, and everyone has been wrong. Here is a couple of lists of end time predictions that have failed:

Jesus said that only the Father knows “that day and hour.” (Matthew 24:36) However he did say that Noah’s day prefigured our day.  Jesus foretold a similar time of violence, lawlessness, and lovelessness as part of “the sign” that we stand at the brink of a “great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.” He also said: “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, . . . Only the Father.” Then he added: “Just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.” (Matthew 24:3-21, 36-39)

Yes, “they took no note.” But we do not have to be like them. We can escape when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven, executing God’s vengeance by everlastingly destroying “those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.” (2 Thessalonians 1:7, 8) We do not have to be like people whose main interest in life is pleasing self, pursuing a prestigious career or material wealth, with no thought of God.

What, therefore, should we conclude? That to be followers of Christ, we have to live always believing that the end of this wicked system is imminent.

well we made it to 2016 so it didn't end.

Ask a theist, and the world will ALWAYS be on it's last leg. This endeavor can be repeated throughout time and the World will always be "Ending". The belief in an "eternal" afterlife of bliss is what motivates those to be "Gung Ho" with these  . . . "hopes".

The world will end when we have depleted her of the resources she needs to maintain life, or the Sun or other astral bodies impart a force that results in the same thing.

No. If there WAS news that the world is going to end then there would be a bunch of earthquakes, fires, tsunami's and a bunch of other nasty weather. So no.
