It's kind of like being a Christian (I am). We Christians have a church and Muslims have a mosque

Well actually it means that a church isn't a building it the people in it.

Anyway a brief answer is that a mosque is a place of prayer, learning(for kids teaching  and verses of the Qu'ran) and a community centre!

Hope this helps!

It shouldn't be, it's only a building.

Thats l ike saying why is a church so important to a christian, isnt it just a building!

Yes, it *is* just a building. Go back to the source - "Where two or more are gathered in my name, there shall I be". Jesus didn't want fine buildings and fat priests - remember what He did in the Temple?
