Christians believe that Jesus, is the Only begotten son of God through His birth of the Virgin Mary. This Makes him part of the 'Holy Trinity'. That is One God with 3 faces (some disagree on this) God The Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit. Very few humans have seen Father God, (Some Prophets according to ones belief.) We see Jesus, as He came in Human Form. Jesus, Paid the price for all sinners when He died on the Cross. The Perfect Sacrifice. The 'Holy Spirit' comes to all who seek. He is described as 'the comforter', the conscience of Believers. Who is sent by God to help us in this life. Now that our sins have been forgiven, we can all go to Father God, to place our requests to Him. Through the Son, we have access to the Throne of God. He is the Messiah, Jesus, will come back at the end to gather all the beleivers, and to put the antichrist and Satan in Hell forever.
I don’t make too many Christian friends with my answer but here goes anyway. It’s my considered opinion that nobody really knows who Jesus was…or knew his true character if he existed.
First of all, there were many Jews who came around claiming they were the messiah. There were even individuals in other sects both before and after the supposed time of Jesus who made the same claim.
Then we’re confronted by Jews who claim to this day that he was NOT the messiah.
First came Paul who claimed to have been designated as Jesus’ apostle at a time when, on a journey to Damascus, he says he was struck blind and convinced by Jesus as to His (Jesus’) divinity. He never even claimed to have ever actually been in the physical presence of Jesus. His letters, many of which scholars question as authentic, appear to have been written with an agenda in mind. (I haven’t yet arrived at precisely what that agenda was but I have some suspicions based on the history of the time.)
It was at least forty years after the crucifixion that Mark, the first of the four Gospels, (the accounts of Jesus’ ministry) came along, followed at varying intervals by the other three culminating in John at the turn of the first century. These were accounts constructed of stories (legends) that had been floating among illiterate populations by word of mouth and a small amount of writings. Only two of the claimed writers were said to have been actual witnesses of Jesus. And, not incidentally, we don’t know that those named had actually been the gospels’ writers. It was common practice to apply names that conveniently added credibility to an account.
Lastly, there were numerous other accounts of Jesus and his ministry that were subsequently thrown out of the canon by Counsels of church leaders spanning over the next 1300 years.

Jesus is the Son of God, and He Is God, in the flesh. Jesus' mission was to come to earth as a human, live as a human, but he was still the perfect Son of God. He had 3 yrs out of His 33 yrs on earth, devoted to ministry where He did numerous miracles and presented the gospel. He finally was arrested, tried unfairly by hateful,, jealous men, savagely and cruelly beaten, the hung on a cross where He bled and died. He rose from the dead, and later went back to Heaven whee He waits until the day of His return.
His mission was simply this: To save the world from their sins, and to give them eternal life in heaven with Him.

We are only asked in Scripture from where we are to get our doctrine for reproof and correction and instruction in righteousnees to confess that Yahshua ("Jesus") is the Messiah the son of the living Yahweh ("God"), not that he is Yahweh ("God"). Father Yahweh anionted and appointed His son Yahshua to reign as King for 1,000 years and to be our high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
To Beleive "Jesus IS God!" Is To Be Deceived!
